Mikhail Evdokimov, PhD in Law
Mikhail is a lawyer and PhD in Law with a unique combination of expertise spanning academia, public regulation, and international business structuring. He is an expert in capital markets, media, and special situations.

Mikhail brings over 10 years of successful experience in regulatory compliance across leading jurisdictions. He is deeply versed in the legal systems and regulatory requirements of Russia, the United States, China, and the UAE, including free economic zones and Islamic finance instruments. He advises on transactions at all stages of venture capital and private equity, including pre-IPO, IPO, and derivatives structuring. His portfolio includes participation in deals with global technology leaders such as Telegram, SpaceX, xAI, Anthropic, CoreWeave, and Epic Games. He also has strategic experience in developing new business lines in investment activities within the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa).

Mikhail began his career at the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, where he contributed to drafting regulations governing the financial market and built a framework for legal support of the Bank’s international agreements with foreign regulators. He then moved to the international financial group The Ultima World, where he rose to the position of Head of Legal. He also has experience working at international law firms. His track record includes won court cases and discontinued administrative proceedings with total claims exceeding 1 billion e.u.

Mikhail has substantial experience in organizing legal support for media projects. He advises major artists and record labels, and participates in organizing exhibitions for leading museums, including the Hermitage and the Russian Museum.

Alongside his practice, Mikhail pursues an academic career. He is the author of scientific articles in journals indexed by HAC, Scopus, and Web of Science, focusing on legal regulation of financial integration. He teaches at MGIMO and VAVT in the areas of financial market regulation and fintech, and also delivers courses at the First Channel School on legal support for media projects.

In his practice, Mikhail combines deep academic grounding, international experience, and practical management skills to solve complex legal challenges.

Mikhail graduated with honors (red diploma) from MGIMO’s master’s and doctoral programs, defending his PhD thesis on legal regulation of capital markets in the EU and the EAEU. He has interned at the European Court of Human Rights, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Court of Justice of the European Union, the Court of the EAEU, and the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg. He has also completed professional development programs in France, Luxembourg, and Germany. He graduated with honors (red diploma) from the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, earning degrees in historical education and psychology with a focus on forensic expertise.
